The River Great Ouse Exhibition
31st July to 2nd August 2026 Ely Maltings

In 2021 as an antidote to all the strangeness that was happening in the world, my husband and I travelled the navigable length of The River Great Ouse raising funds for East Anglia Children’s Hospices. Covering 94 miles of waterway in 5 days in August and countless training miles on the tributaries, in the lead up to the trip.

Along the way, there were brief moments at rest when it was possible to make a quick sketch and/or take a photo or two. This exhibition is the result of paintings worked on in the studio in between other work and it seemed an appropriate moment 5 years on to bring them together for this exhibition.

The Maltings at Ely seemed an ideal venue – overlooking the river in this increasingly vibrant and creative small city and close too to the Cambridgeshire Fens which drain into the Ouse and contribute to its’ life and character.

Original paintings in oil and acrylic, framed drawings, cards and prints will be available for sale.
