Commissions

50% of the price agreed is payable at the time of order. In the event of cancellation by the purchaser for whatever reason, this sum is refundable for the 28 days after the commission has been agreed in writing with the exception of reasonable costs already incurred by the artist such as administrative costs, location studies, travel, materials, time expended etc..  The balance is payable on collection or before shipping of the commission along with any transport costs arranged on behalf of the purchaser. The commission price does not include shipping.

Shipping

Original works of art are normally purchased on an ex-studio basis i.e. all packing and shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.  Purchases will not be refunded because a purchaser has failed to allow for these costs. These items are shipped without insurance.  It is strongly recommended that you take out insurance for the transport of original works of art.

Shipment via courier including insurance (signed for service) – this can be quoted for on request. Please note that shipment outside of the UK may incurr additional taxes and charges. We accept no responsibility for additional charges.

If you live in the UK near my studio in Norfolk, then you artwork can be collected by appointment.

Online Purchasing and Returns

Via PayPal QR – No debit or credit card details are stored by me.

We want you to be completely happy with your painting but if there is an issue, please email within 7days of delivery. You may return items within 14 days of purchase. You will need to repack the painting and ship it using the same service that shipped it to you. Once it has been safely returned you will be refunded with your original payment within 14 days. All return shipping, packing, administrative fees must be paid for by the customer.

Any items shipped outside of the UK cannot be refunded.

Courses and Workshops

(NB all courses booked with Norfolk Creative Arts, NorfolkBound or other organisations are subject to their own terms and conditions).

4/6/8 week (2 ½ hours each session) courses and 1, 2, 3, or 4 day workshops

Places are confirmed on receipt of payment for the full value of the course.  You may cancel your place up to one month before the course/workshop/lesson date. After this payment is non-refundable and non-transferable, except in exceptional circumstances and at our discretion.  If you cancel after the one month deadline and your place can be resold you will receive a full refund, less £40 administration fee. 

We reserve the right to cancel any course at any time and should we need to cancel a course for any reason you will of course receive a full refund of your course fee, we will not be responsible for any advance costs you may have incurred e.g. materials or travel.  We reserve the right to cancel any session within course should circumstances force us to do so.  If this should happen you will receive a refund for that session only.

Payment may be made via PayPal, in person or by telephone(for which an additional charge will be made) or via the relevant BookWhen booking page (additional processing fee).

Meals

Weekly courses – refreshments included (tea, coffee and biscuits)

1, 2, 3, 4 day workshops within a studio environment – refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits) included.  Please see the course details for the inclusion of any additional refreshments ie lunch. If lunch is provided it is with regret that we cannot accommodate specialist dietary needs (a portion of the course fee will be returned to you in lieu of refreshments).

Outdoor workshops – please see details of each individual workshop.

Food allergies can only be accommodated when the course includes refreshment provided by a catering establishment ie pub, cafe and it is recommended that the student contact the venue direct to ensure their needs can be met.

What the course includes

Materials are not included in the cost of the course unless otherwise stated. Where they are included this is for consumables only unless otherwise stated. Work originated with the course may be taken home by the student but the copyright remains with Elizabeth Fitzgerald Carter except where the student provides their own images or specific written permission is given.  Students must make their own arrangements for travel to/from venues.  Some courses will include handouts which may be taken home by students however copyright of this material remains the property of Elizabeth Fitzgerald Carter.

Practicalities

For the comfort of all students courses are non-smoking without exception (including the use of electronic cigarettes) and this includes not smoking near other students or during tuition on outdoor courses.

Vehicles parked in any location whilst a student is on a course are left at the owner’s own risk and no claim may be made against the tutor.

For their own comfort, safety and in the event of an emergency, students are required to inform the tutor of any health matter that may be an issue for concern during the course and we would advise these students to contact Elizabeth or the course organiser by email in advance of any course to ensure that it is possible to accommodate any special requirements.

Photographs may be taken during the course for social media and publicity.  Wherever possible verbal permission of the students either collectively or individually will be sought but attendance on the course or workshop is an acceptance that this may happen.
